Shane has over 20 years’ experience in the consulting fields of structural, civil, forensic and remedial engineering.

He has been involved in the assessment, design, and delivery for a variety of existing and new industrial, marine, mining and civil structures, and has managed multi-disciplinary teams to bring together a range of professionals required to provide holistic solutions.

Shane’s work in forensic and remedial engineering includes investigation, diagnostic testing and desktop structural assessment with closed-form solutions and Finite Element Analysis, to enable the delivery of considered and pragmatic remedial repair and strengthening strategies to clients and asset owners.

He also has competences in the durability assessment and planning of structures and buildings to increase confidence of design life achievement at optimised and predictable maintenance costs.

Shane has published on various matters including the condition survey and assessment of structures, structural auditing and risk assessment of assets, structural strengthening methods and maintenance engineering design and implementation. Chloride durability and future maintenance engineering on a marine structure earned him joint-receipt of the Best Paper Award at the Concrete 2019 Conference for the Concrete Institute of Australia.
